Curriculum Intent

“To transform the future and life chances of our children through experiencing a real, relevant and purposeful curriculum.”

St Theresa’s is proud to be a Catholic School rooted in Gospel values. Through celebrating and sharing our faith, we want all of our children to know and understand that they are loved by God. We also want to prepare them for life in a multi-cultural society, respecting the values and customs of others.

We strive to deliver an inclusive, creative and challenging curriculum, promoting the needs of all of our children so that they are able to reach their full potential. We aim to develop the whole child by showing love, compassion and understanding, offering support and challenge and exposing them to new opportunities and experiences that develop a thirst for learning.

We aim for all of our children to be fluent and knowledgeable readers, as we believe that reading and rich vocabulary are the keys to unlocking the curriculum. Through wide and varied exposure to different genres, cultures and traditions, our children will develop a rich and deep understanding of the world.

We endeavour to develop our children’s ambitions, aspirations and understanding of the community and wider world in which they live. We want them to acquire broad knowledge, skills for life, and cultural capital which in turn will make them well-rounded citizens who are better prepared for the future ahead of them.
